The Millport Pipes Abroad!

by JOHN
  • Classy and colourful

Darvel in East Ayrshire had a real problem Saturday June 9 was their Gala Day and they were not able to find a Pipe Band.

In desperation an old friend of Eric Smith, who knew he was a talented musician asked if he knew anyone who could knock a tune out! He responded positively and Darvel hoped a couple of folk would turn out with their Chanters!!

Imagine the surprise, relief and delight when Eric managed to turn up with the magnificent Millport Pipes and Drums. The outfits were so colourful, the ladies so bonny and the music magnificent. Millport should be proud of such a fantastic export. Thanks to all of you for making it such a great Day. "Haste Ye Back"!!
