MSP asks about the reversal of pharmacy decisions
21 JulyAccording to the website of the Dispensing Doctors' Association, Kircaldy's Labour MSP Marilyn Livingstone has asked the following question of the Scottish Government:
"In light of the number of NHS board decisions that are overturned on appeal, whether it considers that NHS boards are able to make correct decisions about pharmacy applications."
This is of course very relevant after the recent overturning of a decision not to allow a private pharmacy to replace the doctor's dispensary in Tarves, Aberdeenshire. The appeal was won by a company which has also applied to open a similar pharmacy in Millport.
Minister for Public Health Shona Robison replied that the Scottish Government had recently undertaken a process of consultation on this issue, and would now be considering the results.
