Millport Community Fire Station

Just a small note of explanation and apology to the residents near the fire station and in the town in general.

During the last few days the fire crew has had no paging system operational due to the power cuts. This has been compounded by very poor mobile phone coverage and the failure of cordless phones on the crews home phones due to the power failure.

All of this has meant on occasion resorting to setting the sirens off while sitting in the station to summon the crew who stay nearest in the housing scheme and then sounding the sirens more than would normally be required en route to the incidents to alert anyone else who we were still trying to get for the second appliance.

We hope that you understand the need for this and be assured that our communications engineers are trying to resolve this as a matter of urgency.
