Bill Paton says:

All went well over the weekend, everyone enjoyed it and we had a very good attendance, similar to last year's.

We are now looking forward to the 15th Millport Festival which will start on Friday 4th September 2009. Anyone interested in joining the Festival Group is welcome to attend our meetings which will start at the end of this month. Watch this space to find out when the date has been set!

On behalf of the Festival Group, we would like to thank North Ayrshire Council, Caledonian MacBrayne and all the local businesses who have helped put on the Festival this year!

Hi, Mags Weir here.

I'd like to thank everyone who donated to the charity event, all the businesses who gave raffle prizes, a big thanks to Margaret in the George Hotel, Jay Newton and Cal Mac and to everyone who bought a ticket. Just a pity the line dance event could not take place outside, but we managed to move it into the Cactus Jacks [Town Hall]. We didn't get the amount of people we thought we would have, but hey, we can't do anything about the bad weather.

A big thanks to the Millport Pipe Band, the Scottish Country Dancers and to Christine Mc David and the Girl Guides for their hard work and their donation.

I would like to give a big thanks to my family, big sis Liz, John, my son Leigh and my husband Neil.

The final amount of money raised will be posted on s1 early next week, sorry for the delay but I've got a throat infection [at least I didn't fall this year.]

Thanks again, Mags.

Hi, Margaret here again,
Just a note to say the final amount raised on the Sunday of the Festival was £562.12p. I have donated this money between the Gillian Saltire appeal, The Millport Pipe Band and The Millport Play Group. Thank you to everyone who donated prizes and to everyone who bought a ticket.
Maybe next year we can go ahead with the outside line dance event, if the weather is better.
Thanks to the Festival Committee and everyone who gave me their support.
Margaret

I would like to thank everyone that I have worked with on the festival committee, and everyone who takes part and supports the festival.
Due to work commitments, I will not be able to stay on the committee, but wil give my support when I can.
Thanks again, Mags.

The thought was there but Millport Playgroup did not receive any donation from the Country and Western weekend!
