John Barrowman writes fantasy children's novel based on Millport

John Barrowman has brought out a fantasy children's novel featuring Millport.

Hollow Earth, which has been described as 'Scottish Harry Potter style', is set on a fictional island based on Cumbrae.

It is the third book the West End and TV star has written with his sister Carole, but it is their first which is aimed at children.

Hollow Earth will be published on Thursday, February 2, but is available to pr-order from Amazon here.

John Barrowman will be in Waterstone's, Glasgow to sign copies of Hollow Earth on Monday, February 13 at 1pm.

I've already been in touch with Carole Bannerman (John's sister & co-author) to see if any promotional visits to Millport are planned as the book is set on the island of Auchinmurn which is so closely based on Cumbrae (it even has a lion rock) - it seems it's not on the publishers schedule at the moment....
