C & W Weekend summary & photos
This was the first time in recent years that I have been on the Island for the C&W weekend but it seemed to be very well organised and controlled with everyone able to enjoy the spectacle even if they weren't participating.
Bill Paton has asked me to add the following comment from the organising group:
----------------------------------------
Millport Festival Group would like to thank everyone who helped to make this year’s festival so successful. Having the Stagecoach back ensured that the parade got off to a great start and what better way to finish off than the Harley`s, always a favourite with the crowd.
Around the Garrison there was something for all from the trick horse riding on Newton Sands to the Bucking Bronco and children's rides on one side of the grounds while Outreach kept the younger kids happy at the other end.
Even the weather was kind to us helping to make Saturday`s attendance the best for many years.
The businesses had a great weekend of trading and a number have increased their original donation in appreciation. This has been gratefully received as we rely very much on their generosity to keep the Festival FREE.
Next year’s festival will be held over the weekend of Friday 2nd /Saturday 3rd/Sunday 4th September.

I took a number of photos of the parade and Bill asked me to add some to the site and some are attached. You can also view all of them online in my gallery at http://picasaweb.google.co.uk/milli0508/CWFestival2010?authkey=Gv1sRgCKXF1ojyzLK19wE&feat=directlink
