Big Green Weekend a Great Success

Many thanks to all the folks who turned out on Saturday and Sunday to help with clearing out the pond and garden area. The community volunteers were given great assistance from the Ayshire branch of the Conservation Volunteers Trust with seven of their members giving us their labour and expertise over the two day period and have made a terriffic impact on the whole site so that we can now see all the extra work that has to be carried out to bring the area back into full use for the benifit of the community.

Special thanks are due to Alistair McIntyre for bringing his digger  to help clear out the pond.

Will keep you all posted into our next move but in the meantime we expect to bring in a chipping machine to render all the trees and shrubs that were pulled out of the site.

So many thanks once again from the Cumbrae Initiative Community Company.
