Tribute to Alistair Leitch

by Campbell Templeton

The death occured of Alistair Leitch last week. A player who played for Millport in the 60's and 70's. Alistair always wore the No 4 and I do not think there was a better player to play for Millport in this time. Great player great guy,Alistair always made a great effort to be there to play for Millport in summer . I am sure anyone who played alongside Alistair will be saddened by his passing.

Having played with Alastair Leitch for many years and been his close friend I am sad to have lost him. Alastair had been very ill for several years but he fought it as he would have done had it been a game of football. He was my closest and best friend and will be sorely missed. I agree with Cammy in that Alastair was a tremendous player and I would say that he was the best I ever played alongside. This says a lot about Alastair as Millport in the 60's and 70's had a tremendous number of quality players.

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
