Summer Football Matches
I lived in Millport from 1968 till 1973 and remember the epic games played at West Bay.
The team from TNPG seemed to be fed on raw meat because the matches against Cumbrae always had a bit of an 'edge' to them.
Happy days!

I played for Millport then home on leave from the army, a physical training instructor and against TNPG and IBM , LARGS ,or any other team that played us i certainly did not hold anything back hammer and tongs for the full 90 minutes the Millport boys were up for it , a great team of individuals and good team spirit!
From memory of watching some of these games in the sixties and early seventies there used to be quite good crowds round the pitch. Some pretty fierce encounters too. Even Millport v Visitors.
I remember a guy called Ian McWilliams playing for Millport and ending up playing for a smaller team called Celtic. :)
He certainly did Jock Steins last signing , i was a friend of Ians , he played with Hong Kong Rangers for a few seasons , earned a few bucks , played in goal for Millport and outfield when we were trying to claw a result back , sadley Ian died a few years ago i was at his funeral , a giant man in stature and personality!
Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
