I remember my dad mentioning Tadger. No doubt others will correct me if I am wrong but I'm sure his name was on the wall going up the Ferry Road. Dad told me Tadger had helped rebuild it. Sorry I don't remember much but it was quite a few years ago

Sandra Smith nee McColl says

Hi can anyone tell me why he was called Tadger this is quite an insulting name in old Scottish names that's why I thought it might me Todger which means David???

Sandy Caughey says

I remember my Gran talking about Tadger and last weekend I mentioned his name to my Uncle who is now 96 he remembers him well I suggest you get in touch with my Uncle's son David Stevenson who lives in Craigengour or his grandson another David who works at the bowling green hope this helps

Sandra Smith nee McColl says

Hi Sandy Caughey....Thank you for the info if you could give me an  email or some way to get in touch with your Uncle's son David Stevenson or his Grandson David I would appreciate it.

There used to be several names painted onto the wall on Ferry Road. Tadger and Fern Andy were two and the others from memory were Duke, Tarry and Blin' Tam. Does anyone know who the last three were ?

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
