Todger lived and worked at Ballikilet Farm for the late Mr J.Barbour
Christine.
Thanks Christine my Brother Robert remembers my Grandmother Jean taking him to see Todger we don't know much about him as Granny did'nt talk about him much I would be thankful for any more info you have on him.
thanks Sandy
Christine - would that be the same person that my mother and grandmother referred to as Tadger?
Hi Sandy Morton- Yes this is the same person, do you have anymore info on him.
Thanks Sandy Smith
I remember my dad mentioning Tadger. No doubt others will correct me if I am wrong but I'm sure his name was on the wall going up the Ferry Road. Dad told me Tadger had helped rebuild it. Sorry I don't remember much but it was quite a few years ago
Hi can anyone tell me why he was called Tadger this is quite an insulting name in old Scottish names that's why I thought it might me Todger which means David???
I remember my Gran talking about Tadger and last weekend I mentioned his name to my Uncle who is now 96 he remembers him well I suggest you get in touch with my Uncle's son David Stevenson who lives in Craigengour or his grandson another David who works at the bowling green hope this helps
Hi Sandy Caughey....Thank you for the info if you could give me an email or some way to get in touch with your Uncle's son David Stevenson or his Grandson David I would appreciate it.
I live on Vancouver Island in Canada so email would be the best way.
Thanks again Sandy Smith
I would give you my email but will not let me post it are you on facebook ?
Try John S Morrison in Chemainus - he might remember him.
Hi Sandy Caughey Yes I am on facebook?
Thanks and Thanks Sandy Morton I will try John S Morrison
There used to be several names painted onto the wall on Ferry Road. Tadger and Fern Andy were two and the others from memory were Duke, Tarry and Blin' Tam. Does anyone know who the last three were ?
Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
