Billy Burns says:

This was the one and only time Dr Finlayson was home in Millport to present the cup which he donated to the club.

In this picture he is presenting me Billy Burns with a runners up medal.

The reason we lost was possibly because I was allowed to be goalkeeper !!!!

We have had fabulous players during the years I played and unfortunately a number of the guys are no longer with us. The trials of getting older I suppose.

I will definitely be up in Millport for the next reunion match next year 2012.

Eric Marshall says

I remember watching Billy play in the late sixties/ very early seventies. There was a lot of good players around in these days.

Seem to remember there were quite good crowds at some of the games including Millport v Visitors (who sometimes included Rev. James Martin). I have a vague recollection of The Rev. James having  to calm down one of the Millport players who threatened to "do" one of the visitors after a foul. Happy days !

Memories, Nostalgia & History

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
