Did you know Hannah Kelly???

by Koreena Jackson

Hi, I have posted once before on here and had recieved alot of help, so I am going to try once again. I am looking for information on Hannah Kelly (maybe Lynch) or any of her living relitives. I have a picture that I would gladly upload if needed of her working at the St. Andrews home in Millport. I would also like any information about the St.Andrews home in Millport during the war. The reason I am looking for information is because we believed she had helped my grandfather and we are trying to find out more information about what he had done, or where he had gone in during the war. We would also like to send the pictures of her back to her family. Any information would be helpful. Thank you.

Hi Koreena,

Hannah (Kelly) Lynch was my Aunt, my father's sister. She passed away several year's ago, followed by her husband, a few years later.  They have a son, my cousin Billy, who lives in Ayrshire but he is not in contact with the family.  I would be delighted to have any photographs of Auntie Hannah, she was a real character and a very funny lady, always known in our family as Hannah Banana! My mother Maria also worked in St Andrew's hospital and has several photographs of the staff and patients there. There is also some good information in local history books written by a gentleman called Duncan Campbell. If it helps I can ask my mother about your Grandfather?

Hi Rhona

I was going through the few pictures that i have. one looks as though she is holding a white and black rabbit? and there is 2 pictures that she has another woman with her. the writing is faded but it looks like the one says lizzie and yours truly.

i hope all is well on your end

Thank you Kurt Jackson

Hi Kurt,

The black and white rabbit could be mine! Her name was Bunty. The photograph will probably be Hannah and her friend Lizzie McDermid, they lived in the same block of flats in Barend St till Hannah married about 1949.  Sorry but I have no address for Billy Lynch and don't know anybody who may have it either. Not sure how to give you my address without putting it in the public domain, anybody help me out here? Ta

History doesn't have to be in black & white

Your memory of a local character or a school photo from the last ten years can be just as interesting as wars and Victorians.
