Sportscotland National Centre Cumbrae

Sportscotland's National Centre Cumbrae is Scotland's premier watersports centre and instructor training facility. Surrounded by safe water with easy access to the open sea, the centre's position offers exceptional facilities for watersports enthusiasts of all levels. Cumbrae boasts an impressive range of modern equipment, a team of highly qualified instructors and excellent shore based accommodation and catering facilities.We offer: dinghy sailing, powerboating, yacht cruising, kayaking and windsurfing courses for ages 9 and upward and cater for all abilities from beginners to Instructors. The Centre

The centre is a log chalet style building with excellent indoor facilities located 300m from the main ferry slip onto the island. During courses you will use the purpose built lecture rooms, changing rooms, drying area and dining room. For relaxing in the evenings there is a comfortable lounge bar, sauna and gym facilities.The log chalets accommodate up to twelve persons in twin rooms with bunks. Each chalet has a lounge area with basic kitchen facilities. Customers are welcome to attend any of our courses on a non-residential basis. The beach is only metres away once you are ready to go afloat.We realise that good wholesome food makes a considerable difference to your visit. Domestic arrangements are organised by our catering team who work from a modern kitchen to provide a choice of tasty meals.

The Instructional Staff

All our full time and seasonal staff are highly qualified in what we do. Staff members bring with them their own energy and enthusiasm for the activities. They also have a huge breadth and depth of personal and instructing experience in their own specialist areas that their qualifications may not reflect.Ashore our support staff will endeavour to make your stay with us as comfortable and welcoming as possible. All Instructional staff hold a valid first aid certificate.

We want you to enjoy your visit and we view safety as of paramount importance. Sportscotland's National Centre Cumbrae is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA) and works to the standards and recommendations of the National Governing Bodies.
