Millport Pipe Band
Millport Pipe Band was formed in October 1962 from various existing groups including the local 1st Millport Company Boys' Brigade pipe band.
It is self-funded and exists for the enjoyment of its members, the small local community and tourists visiting the holiday island.
The band plays at many engagements over the year, with the months of April till September being the busiest. They have played at a diverse range of events from royal visits to TV programmes and some very obscure things in between.
The band provides free tuition for anyone interested in learning to play pipes or drums, and with a membership ranging in age from ten to seventy it is truly a family and community-based organisation.
Main duties include playing for the entertainment of visitors to Millport and supporting other local organisations at their events.

Brian Mirfin A.C.I.T.P. says
A reasonable bright, cheerful picture 'just a little more to the right then 'click' to shift the shadow on the left.
The thing that came to me seemed to be the feeling of 'Patriotism' something that fills the soul with 'Pride', (you may have your own thought on this type of entertainment) but me?? With my home town simply lacking in this sort of 'Togetherness,' this Crowed Pulling, Public Stopping, Flag Waving, Happy Making, Foot Tapping, Air Filling, NOISY! You can't beat it, so Join it 'Why Don't Ya!
The 'Cowboy' band;
More please, but just a question; Do real Cowboys play the Bagpipes? and; Does the band have a name? I missed this was it good?
