Hi All,

I'm researching the Finnie family of Kilmarnock, who apparently originally moved to Kilmarnock from Constablewood (Largs).  According to my 4th great-uncle's obituary, there were various branches of the Finnie family buried at Millport.  I also understand that Kirkton Farm was once owned by the family?  I'd love to hear from anybody who has any information on, or relationship to, this family?  thank you. Kind regards, Lynne (writing from a wet and stormy Melbourne!!)

I've just posted a long story about the Fords from Millport in the 1800s in the "memories" section: "Tracing Ford Footprints in Millport".

Anyone else out there tracing Millport or Lanarkshire connected families with the surnames: Ford, Wright, Stalker, Jack, Fitzpatrick & Purdie?

Corinne Fordschmid says

Unfortunately I can't get to any of the society's wonderful events as I live in Switzerland. I'm very keen to get in touch with the following presenters, if possible: Ms Jean Leader (Glasgow), Mr Jim Grant (Scottish Maritime Museum, Irvine) and Mr Rob Ferguson (Dalgarven Mill). Can anyone help me with that?

Geoff Moore says
